How to use xnconvert9/23/2023 It would be a life saver if the xnconvert Output tab could have multiple outputs. The final directory tree looks like this: and finally I am merging the 4 root directories, in order for the subfolders to be placed next to each other. The thumb will have the midres converted to jpeg 72 dpi with 280 pixels for the longest side.įor now, I am doing each batch one step at a time with preserving the folder structure, renaming the output folders "tiff" to"hires" etc. The midres will have the hires converted to jpeg 150 dpi with preserving the print size and qith quality 100% The Hires will have the tiffs converted to jpeg 100% quality, I need one of xnconvert/xnview/nconvert to batch process at once these tiff folders and create the following: next to every TIFF folder, I want to create three folders named So, even though I am familiar to batch processing softwares (like irfanview, xnconvert, photoshop, bridge, lightroom, faststone, blah blah blah), I want to simplify my life by being able to convert a set of images located in a root directory with many subdirectories to many other formats.įor example, let's say I have a directory tree like this:Īll of the above "chris" folders have a subfolder named "TIFF", which contais tiff files. Now click on the box next to "Output folder"and navigate to the folder wher eyou'd like to save the new images.Hello everyone, I am a new member of the forum and I have no knowledge of script writing.(You can look at the advanced Parameters if you want, but its not necessary for this). Additionally, I like to keep the quality as nice as possible, so drag the slider up from it's default 85%, up to 100%. In this next window you can choose the filetype you want to convert to (bmp, gif, ico, jpeg, png, tga, and tiff). In this tutorial we're just talking about converting to JPG so we'll do that. At the top click "+Add" and you can choose any number of operations. In the new window click on "Add images" and in the drop down menu, click "Add all opened images." (You will notice that there is an option to "Add Folders" - this works, but not for WEBP, at least it wouldnt for me.) All of your images should be listed under "Input files and options.".Click: File > Batch Image Manipulation (which we added when we installed BIMP).But use your judgement, and drag in as many as you feel comfortable and wait for them all to finish opening. I have a pretty powerful computer, and it opened 72 no problem, it just took a minute to load up. Open up GIMP, and drag all the images that you want to convert into the program. It will be the EXE file you see on this page. Install GIMP if you haven't, of course.I'll give a quick rundown on everything you need to do, it's very easy. But you can go a large number all at once this way, and it saves a ton of time, even if you'd have to do it a few times. If you're going to be doing that fairly often I might suggest diving into ImageMagick and writing a BASH script for it - I didn't feel like dealing with that. This won't do thousands of pictures at once, unless you computer can open all those images. You can do it, you just can't tell it to add the images from a folder, they need to be open in the program. I downloaded the BIMP addon which I thought would batch process the files from WEBP to JPG, but it wouldn't - at least not in the way one expects it to. There are seemingly no uncomplicated ways to convert large amounts of WEBP files to JPG or other formats. I just wanted to make this post so that others who may be trying to figure this out see it. r/FreeCAD FOSS Parametrical CAD/CAM /r/scribus Desktop Publishing Darktable FOSS tool for photographers r/gmic FOSS image processing framework /r/inkscape Vector-based graphic editor /r/blender 3D modeling, animation, & rendering /r/mypaint painting for digital painters /r/darktable/ photo editing software /r/krita digital painting application /r/synfig FOSS 2D Animation /r/FOSSPhotography Folks who use all the above /r/libredesign changing the paradigm Other Links of Interest Outreach through well written tutorials, presentation etc.Help test and triage bugs in the bugtracker.Alexander Prokoudine - /u/prokoudine ( LibreArts Founder) ( patreon) Ways to Assist GIMP.YouTube Channel spamming will not be tolerated.CSS help provided by /u/Cheesydude All about the GNU Image Manipulation Program
